My Work
Below are projects and research proposals that I'm passionate about, drawing from my firsthand experience and background in public administration. These initiatives range from pioneering AI research aimed at transforming mental health crisis prevention to political action initiatives empowering individuals with disabilities to run for office. Each endeavor embodies my commitment to fostering inclusivity, equity, and empowerment, driven by a vision of creating positive change and promoting a more inclusive and resilient society.
01
Political Action Committee for Disability Representation:
Our political action committee is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to run for public office. By providing support, resources, and advocacy, we aim to amplify the voices of disabled individuals in politics, fostering a more inclusive and representative democracy.
02
Offline AI Research in Mental Health Crisis Prevention, Stabilization and Post-Care Planning:
Our groundbreaking AI research focuses on leveraging technology to prevent mental health crisis, aid in stabilization, and facilitate post-care planning in emergency room and psychiatric ward settings. By integrating innovative AI solutions, we aim to revolutionize mental health care delivery, enhancing outcomes and promoting long-term wellness.
03
Coalition for Political Training and Recruitment:
Our coalition is dedicated to recruiting and training individuals with disabilities to run for public office. By offering mentorship, education, and support tailored to the unique needs of disabled candidates, we aim to diversify political leadership and advocate for inclusive governance that represents the needs and values of all constituents. In addition to providing comprehensive media training and enhancing public relations strategies, we prioritize empowering candidates who may face increased scrutiny due to their unconventional backgrounds or personal histories, ensuring they have the tools and confidence to effectively engage with the public and media.
04
Personal Advocacy Through Candid Representation:
As someone who openly discusses their disabilities, I aspire to run for public office one day. By sharing my journey and advocating for disability rights and inclusion, I aim to inspire others to embrace their authentic selves and pursue leadership roles, contributing to a more diverse and equitable political landscape.
01
Law Enforcement Mental Health Training and Collaboration:
To enhance crisis response and support for individuals with mental health issues, we propose making Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training mandatory for all police officers in Virginia. This comprehensive 40-hour training, spread over five days and conducted in person, will equip officers with essential skills in mental health awareness, de-escalation techniques, and effective crisis communication. Currently, only a few hours of mostly virtual mental health training are mandatory, which is insufficient. Certified officers will wear a distinctive badge or a different colored vest, particularly in settings like emergency rooms and psychiatric wards, to signify their specialized training. This initiative aims to improve officer and public safety, build community trust, and ensure better outcomes for individuals experiencing mental health crises through stronger relationships between law enforcement and mental health advocates.
02
Inclusive Pathways Fellowship Equity Initiative:
Inclusive Pathways is a grassroots initiative focused on promoting equity and fairness in fellowship programs by advocating for the removal or adjustment of age limits. By challenging discriminatory practices and championing inclusivity, we aim to create opportunities for individuals of all ages to pursue their academic and professional aspirations.
